| Painter, writer and playwright, born in Florence, Tuscany, NC Italy. From an early career as a painter of the Fattori school, he progressed to carry on the Tuscan sketch-writing tradition in Novelle toscane (1913), Vita di tutti i giorni (1920), and Novelle selvagge (1928). His plays, both in Italian and in dialect, include Chiù (1911), La madonna di Giotto (1914), and Cinque asini per un soldo (1922). |
