| Film actress, born in Bascom, Florida, USA. She made her Broadway debut in A Man for All Seasons (1962), but it was an off-Broadway success in the play Hogan's Goat (1965) which led her to a television debut, a personal contract with Otto Preminger, and a film debut in The Happening (1966). Her first starring role was in Bonnie and Clyde (1967). Later films include Chinatown (1974, Oscar nomination), Don Juan DeMarco (1995), Network (1976, Oscar), the television production of Rebecca (1997), The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999), and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). |
