| Italian politician and soldier, born in Pazin, W Croatia. At the outbreak of World War 1 he refused to serve in the Austrian army, and vigorously campaigned in favour of Italian intervention. He enlisted in the Italian Alpine troops but was captured with Cesare Battisti by the Austrians (1916), and hanged in Buon Consiglio castle, Trento. |
