| Patron saint of Sweden. He became king of Sweden c.1155, and is said to have led a Christian crusade for the conversion of Finland. He is thought to have been murdered at Mass in Uppsala by a Danish pretender to his throne. He was married to Kristina, and became father of King Knut Eriksson (died c.1195). |
