| Composer, born in Honfleur, NW France. He worked as a cafe pianist, and studied erratically in Paris, not beginning to compose seriously until after he was 40. He wrote ballets, lyric dramas, and whimsical pieces which were in violent revolt against musical orthodoxy, and influenced Debussy, Ravel, and others. |
