| Flemish writer and film director, born in Brussels, Belgium. Assistant manager of the Dutch Film Museum in Amsterdam, he became known for his autobiographical novels. In his prose he displays a sharp eye for detail and a sense of humour. He has also directed films, including Casta Diva (1982) and Pink Ulysses (1989). |
