| Composer and pianist, born in Lérida, NE Spain. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, and achieved fame as a pianist and composer of piano music. In 1916 he used his piano suite Goyescas (1911) as the basis for an opera with the same title. He was drowned when the Sussex was torpedoed by the Germans in the English Channel. |
