| Publisher and feminist, born in Headley, Surrey, SE England, UK. In 1860 she founded a printing house with women compositors, and was appointed printer and publisher-in-ordinary to Queen Victoria. In 1863 she started the Victoria Magazine, advocating the claims of women to remunerative employment. |
