| Fascist politician and general, born in Cassano d'Adda, N Italy. He was a quadrumvir in Mussolini's March on Rome (1922), Governor of Tripolitania (1925), and colonial secretary (1939), and commanded the Italian forces invading Abyssinia (1935). He voted against Mussolini in the Fascist Supreme Council (1943), and was summarily tried and executed as a traitor by neo-Fascists in Verona. |
