| biography:
| Music teacher and composer, born in Vienna, Austria. He studied composition, and became professor of harmony at Geneva, where he originated eurhythmics, a method of expressing the rhythmical aspects of music by physical movement, which had great influence on the development of 20th-c dance. He was head of a school of eurhythmic instruction in Geneva (1914–50), where his pupils included Mary Wigman and Hanya Holm. |
