| Writer, born in Pforzheim, SW Germany. He studied philosophy, literature, and economics before becoming a farmer, then spent some time in Brazil before returning to Germany. His novellas and novels, which are crafted in a very traditional, yet sensitive manner, have elements of Realism and neo-Romanticism, and include Der Schleier (1920), Freund Hein (1902), and Das Riesenspielzeug (1935). He was a supporter of the Nazi ‘Kampfbund für deutsche Kultur’ and received several awards during the Third Reich. |
