| Writer, born in Vicksburg, Michigan, USA. She studied at Vanderbilt University, Millsap College (Jackson, MI), and the University of Arkansas. She has written poetry, short stories, and novels, and is known especially for her satirical treatment of the upper-class world of the southern states of the USA. Her novels include The Annunciation (1983), I Cannot Get You Close Enough (1990), and Net of Jewels (1993). In 2000 appeared The Cabal and Other Stories. |
