| Writer, born in Wyalong, New South Wales, SE Australia. She studied at Sydney University, and trained as a teacher. The first of her 12 novels, Jungfrau, was published in 1936. Other novels include Pioneers on Parade (1939), written with Miles Franklin, and Come In Spinner (1951), written with Florence James. She also wrote several plays, illustrating her preoccupation with social and political disadvantage. |
