| Trumpet player, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. A passionate improviser, able to play with ease in the ultra-high register, he was in demand as a featured soloist with top bands of the 1930s, such as McKinney's Cotton Pickers and the Teddy Hill and Fletcher Henderson Orchestras. He continued to perform until suffering a stroke in 1980. |
