| biography:
| Poet, born in Glasgow, W Scotland, UK. He studied at Glasgow University, where he later taught literature. He is a versatile writer, having produced both powerful ‘social’ poems (the Glasgow Sonnets in From Glasgow to Saturn, 1973) as well as much experimental writing, including concrete and computer poems. His work is well represented in Poems of Thirty Years (1982). Later works include You: Anti-War Poetry (1991) and Collected Poems (1996). |
