| Naturalist and zoologist, born in London, UK. A druggist in London, he spent so much time on ornithology that his business failed. He was curator of the museum of the Asiatic Society in Bengal (1841–62). Several birds are named after him, including Blyth's kingfisher, Blyth's pipit, and Blyth's warbler. |
