| British prince, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II. He studied at Gordonstoun School, Moray, NE Scotland, UK, and Lakefield College, Ontario, SE Canada, then trained at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, where he was commissioned as a helicopter pilot. He saw service in the Falklands War (1982). In 1986 he married Sarah (Margaret) Ferguson (1959– ), and was made Duke of York. They have two children, Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary (1988– ) and Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena (1990– ). The couple separated in 1992, and divorced in 1996. He left the navy in 2001, and took up a role as ambassador for British Trade International. |
