| biography:
| Serbian soldier, born in Ivanjica, WC Serbia. After World War 1, he rose to the rank of colonel in the Yugoslav army. In 1941 when Germany occupied Yugoslavia, he remained in the mountains and organized resistance, forming groups (Chetniks) to wage guerrilla warfare. He became minister of war for the Yugoslavian goverment in exile (1943), then allied himself with the Germans, and then with the Italians in order to fight the Communists. After the war he was captured and executed by the Tito government for collaboration. |
