| Architect, born in Salamanca, W Spain. He was royal architect to Charles II, and developed the extravagant style which is known as Churrigueresque. He designed Salamanca Cathedral. His brothers Joaquin (1674–1720) and Alberto (1676–1750) were also architects. |
