| Writer, poet, and journalist, born in Belluno, Veneto, NE Italy. He wrote a number of novels combining surrealistic elements, science fiction, allegories, and news items, including Barnabo delle montagne (1933), Il segreto del bosco vecchio (1935), and Il deserto dei tartari (1940). Also central to his work is a magic ambience and the feeling of being powerless against fate. He also wrote short stories Sessanta racconti (1958), poetry Due poemetti (1967), and plays La fine del borghese (1968). |
