| Ballet dancer, born in Stanton, Virginia, USA. She studied with Edward Canton and Antony Tudor, and appeared in two Broadway musicals before joining the Ballet Theatre (1943) where she performed featured roles in several ballets. In 1950 she joined the New York City Ballet and created many roles until her retirement in the mid-1960s. |
