| Photographer, born in London, UK. Originally specializing in fashion photography as a freelance from 1959, his creative approach soon extended to portraits expressing the spirit of the 1960s and to some outstanding studies of the nude. He writes extensively on all aspects of his craft and has been a director of televison commercials and documentaries since the 1970s. His publications include Nudes 1981–84 (1984) and The Lady is a Tramp (1995). In 1999 a major retrospective of his work, ‘Birth of the Cool’, opened in London. |
