| British radio and television broadcaster. He began his career as an announcer with the Forces Broadcasting Service (1944–7), and joined the BBC in 1947. He has been a part of British radio and television since then, introducing shows, chairing panel games, and presenting many light and popular music programmes. He was voted top disc jockey on six occasions. |
