| biography:
| British actor, writer, and illustrator. He trained as a commercial artist, worked as a technical illustrator, and became an actor in 1943, joining the BBC Repertory Company (1945–51). He became especially known on stage and film for his portrayal of Jewish characters, and for his short stories based on Jewish traditions and culture. He performed his one-man show, A Funny Kind of Evening in many countries, and was well known for his Bible story-telling programmes on radio and television. His books include Bible Stories Retold by David Kossoff (1968) and You Have a Minute, Lord? (1977). |
