| Choreographer and dancer, born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, N England, UK. He studied at the Royal Ballet School, then joined Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet (1976–86), becoming resident choreographer and principal dancer (1983–6). From 1986–93 he was resident choreographer and principal dancer with the Royal Ballet before joining the Birmingham Royal Ballet as artistic director (1995– ). |
