| Astronomer and clergyman, born in Esens, NW Germany. In 1586 he discovered the first variable star (Mira, in the constellation Cetus). He was pastor at Resterhaave and Osteel in East Friedland, where he was murdered. His son, Johannes Fabricius (1587–1615), discovered the Sun's spots and its revolution. |
