| Actor, born in New York City, USA. He studied at Princeton and Yale, became an actor, and took a range of parts in low-budget films, becoming known in his role as Jake, the narrator in the Red Shoe Diaries (1992–7). He achieved star success when he was given the role of Fox Mulder in the television series The X-Files (1993– , Golden Globe Best Actor), which has since become a cult classic. His feature film credits began with Working Girl (1988), and include Beethoven (1992), The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998), and Zoolander (2001). |
