| British theoretical physicist, born in Haifa, NW Israel. Educated at Cambridge and Oxford universities, in 1978 he took up a position at the University of Texas at Austin, and in 1985 returned to Oxford. His reseach interests include quantum information processing, quantum non-locality, the quantum theory of time travel, and the foundations of quantum mechanics and probability. He pioneered the theory of quantum computation. |
