| biography:
| Writer, born in Sydney, New South Wales, SE Australia. Employed briefly as a stenographer, she married a general practitioner in 1922, and a year later moved to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. From 1921 she wrote short stories and verse for various magazines, mostly under her pen name. Her novels include Slow Dawning (1932), The Little Company (1945), and the historical trilogy, The Timeless Land (1941), Storm of Time (1948), and No Barrier (1953). She was awarded the Australian Literature Society's gold medal in 1934 and 1936, and in 1978 received the Australian Society of Women Writers' Alice Award. |
