| Inventor, born in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SC England, UK. Interested in machinery from an early age, he went on to establish his own cycle business, Ivel Cycles, in 1880. Under the Ivel name his patented inventions include a cycle pony trap (1887), a convertible safety bicycle (1888), and the first practical farm tractor (1903). He also designed a number of bicycles for ladies. |
