| Dancer and choreographer, born in New York City, USA. She was in Japan prior to studying dance theatre at the University of Michigan. In New York City she studied classical ballet and tai chi chuan, became a member of Twyla Tharp's and Laura Dean's companies, and began choreographing in 1973. Best known as a soloist, she has collaborated with other dancers, musicians, and lighting designers, making a notable contribution to Wilson and Glass's opera, Einstein on the Beach (1976). |
