| West Indian cricketer, born in St Peter, NW Barbados. An explosive opening batsman, he spent more than a decade with Hampshire, and averaged 82·23 for the English season of 1984. He scored a century on his Test debut, and set five West Indian Test partnership records, forging the game's most durable opening alliance with his fellow Bajan, Desmond Haynes. |
