| The second son of Darius II of Persia (r. 423–404 BC). He was accused of conspiring against his brother, Artaxerxes II, and sentenced to death (404 BC), but was afterwards pardoned and restored as satrap of Asia Minor. In 401 BC he led an army of Greek mercenaries against his brother, but was killed at Cunaxa. |
