| Queen of The Netherlands (1980– ), born in Soestdijk, WC Netherlands, the eldest daughter of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard Leopold. In 1966 she married West German diplomat Claus-Georg Wilhelm Otto Friedrich Gerd von Amsberg (1926–2002); their son, Prince Willem-Alexander Claus George Ferdinand (1967– ) is the first male heir to the Dutch throne in over a century. There are two other sons, Johan Friso Bernhard Christiaan David (1968– ) and Constantijn Christof Frederik Aschwin (1969– ). She acceded to the throne on her mother's abdication in 1980. |
