| Novelist, born in Odiliënberg, The Netherlands. She made her debut in 1991 with the best-selling novel De wetten (The Laws), which established her literary career instantly. The follow-up De vriendschap (1955, The Friendship) is autobiographical in nature and was awarded the AKO literature prize. Both novels describe the philosophical questions of the main characters, such as the relation between the body and the mind and language and reality. |
