| biography:
| Cultural anthropologist, born in Barcelona, NE Spain. He joined the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH) when he was 28 and alternated between work and study there until 1955. The Spanish socio-political situation of 1939 forced him into exile in Mexico from which he was repatriated to Madrid (1956) where he lived until 1968, before moving to Barcelona (1969). Among his chief works are Antropología Industrial (1973, 1984), Cultura, sociedad y personalidad (1978), and Estado, etnicidad y biculturalismo (1984). |
