| Poet, born in Alcamo, Sicily, S Italy. He is believed to have written the contrasto in Sicilian dialect, Rosa fresca aulentissima, between 1231 and 1250. Considered one of the most outstanding examples of minstrel art, it is a disputation in verse between a young woman of the people and her lover. |
