| Ceramic specialist, modeller, and designer, born in Worcester, Hereford and Worcester, WC England, UK. He joined Doulton & Co in 1889 as head modeller, was later responsible for many Parian ware figures, and became instrumental in introducing the Holbein and Rembrandt wares. In 1914 he became art director at Doulton's in Burslem, where he experimented with reproducing red rouge flambé and sang-de-boeuf glazes from the Sung, Ming, and early Ching dynasties. |
