| Writer, born at Beresford Hall, Staffordshire, C England, UK. In 1664 he issued anonymously his burlesque poem, Scarronides, or the First Book of Virgil Travestie. Later works include a treatise on fly-fishing contributed in 1676 to the fifth edition of Walton's Compleat Angler, and a translation of Montaigne's Essays (1685). |
