| Geographer, born in Romeo, Michigan, USA. At the University of Chicago (1916–49), he became an authority on the economic geography of North America. Three editions of his Source Book for the Economic Geography of North America were published (1921, 1922, 1926), and his Centrifugal and Centripetal Forces in Urban Geography appeared in 1933. |
