| Poet, born in Rome, Latium, Italy. He started out as a realist painter but went on to write lively sonnets in the Roman dialect which recall the work of Giachino Belli, such as Er morto de campagna (1881), Villa Gloria (1886), and La scoperta de l'America (1894). He also wrote the unfinished poem Storia nostra (1941) which charts the history of Italy in 267 sonnets. |
