| Molecular biologist and immunologist, born in Bahía Blanca, E Argentina. He studied at Buenos Aires University and at Cambridge, then joined the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge in 1963. He worked on antibody research, and in 1975 developed monoclonal antibodies with Georges Köhler (1946–95), which revolutionized biological research, and for which they shared the 1984 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine. |
