| Bibliographer and biographer, born in Madrid, Spain. His masterpiece was the Catálogo bibliográfico y biográfico del teatro antiguo español desde su origen hasta mediados del siglo XVIII (1890). His Nuevo biografía de Lope de Vega appeared in Vol 1 of the Academy's edition of Lope's works (1890), and is important for its new data using the correspondence between Lope and the Duque de Sessa. Berrera was also well known in his day for work on the apocryphal Quijote of ‘Avellaneda’, for a biography and edition of Rioja, and Adiciones a las poesías de don Francisco de Rioja (1872). |
