| biography:
| Poet, born in the palace of Seyssenegg near Amstetten, Germany. Writing in the Baroque tradition, her works were heavily influenced by Protestant mysticism and had a missionary character; among others she sought to convert Emperor Leopold I to Protestantism. A member of the ‘Teutschgesinnte Genossenschaft’, one of several linguistic and literary societies of the time, she headed its ‘Lilienzunft’ chapter in Nuremberg. Her sonnets reveal a mastery of language and are included in various collections, such as Geistliche Sonette (1662), Sieges-Seule der Buße (1672), and Nichts als Jesus (1672). |
