| biography:
| Cinematographer, born in Huesca, NE Spain. He studied film direction at the Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas and taught cinematic production at the Escuela Oficial de Cinematografía. Together with Elías Querejeta, he made 13 films over 16 years which analysed the behaviour of the middle classes under the dictatorship of General Franco. Among his best-known films are La caza (1965), Peppermint frappé (1967), La madriguera (1969) starring Geraldine Chaplin, El jardín de las delicias (1970), Ana y los lobos (1972), La prima Angélica (1973), El Dorado (1987), and ¡Ay, carmela! (1990). |
