| Scholar, born in Florence, Tuscany, NC Italy. He was a student of Galileo and later became secretary of the Academy of the Crusca, helping to compile the third edition of the Academy's dictionary. He also wrote Discorso dell'obbligo di ben parlare la propria lingua (1657), and a number of scientific and historical works, such as Vite dei pittori antichi (1667). |
