| Writer, born in Zenevredo, Lombardy, N Italy. A leading member of the scapigliatura Milanese literary movement, from 1870 he combined the activity of writer with that of secretary to politician Francesco Crispi and then as a diplomat. A versatile writer who experimented with different styles and genres, his works include L'altrieri (1868), Vita di Alberto Pisani (1870), and Gocce d'inchiostro (1880). |
