| Patriot and writer, born in Livorno, W Italy. A follower of Mazzini, he was a founder of the periodical L'Indicatore livornese. While in jail in 1833 he wrote the Manoscritto di un prigioniero which was not published until 1869. He also translated Byron and Sterne. |
