| Novelist of Jewish origin, born in Eindhoven, S Netherlands. She was originally educated as a translator/interpreter. In 1991 appeared her first novel Tralievader (Dad Behind Bars), an autobiographical book about her father who was imprisoned in a concentration camp during World War 2. The novel received much acclaim and was translated into German. In 1993 she wrote her second book, Twee koffers vol (Two Suitcases Full), about the confrontation of a female student with her Jewish background and identity. |
