| Missionary, born in Querfurt, EC Germany. Educated at Magdeburg Cathedral School, he entered the monastery in Ravenna in 997, and worked as a missionary bishop in Poland, Hungary, and the Ukraine. He reached Prussia but met fierce opposition, and was put to death with his companions. Feast day 19 June. |
